Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas to all!  It has been another wonderful day and we are so blessed!   I am sick as a dog and trying to wind it down to go to bed and close Christmas down for 2010.  To all of you who know me, I love you dearly and appreciate all that you are in my life.  To any of you that stumbled on to this by some accident; Jesus loves you and I pray that you are able to appreciate what the true significance of this day is.  Until we see one another again...

Getting ready to hit the Airport!

I am going to beautiful Jamaica on Weds morning for a five day mission trip.  I could not be more excited; more nervous, more full of anxiety, and more full of the knowledge that God is going to do great things while we are there.  I ask that you please keep us all in your prayers.  I would ask that you pray for us to have an amazing impact on this place that is so full of hurt and sadness.  We will be focusing alot on helping to build within the communities. We'll also be teaching sports at a boys orphanage.  If you could also pray for our safety.  Having lived in the Caribbean for a year I know first hand that white men are not always given the best reception even when you are approaching with the purest of intentions.  Thanks in advance for your prayer.  Love to all of you.  See you when we return Sunday!

Adventures in J-land

View ImageI got to realize a dream yesterday. I got to be a stand- in, in a movie with John Smoltz and get to be fully dressed out as a player on Turner Field!!! It was so much fun and so freezing at the same time!!! John Smoltz could not have been cooler. He is definitely worthy of being this edition of our Role Model. A good Christian man that is not afreaid to stand up on his values and take a stand. I will post pics from yesterday as soon as I figure out how to get them from my email to here. Thanks for checking in!

So long old friend...

This is our role model of the week.

For any of us that grew up as Braves fans Bobby Cox was a father/ grandfather figure to us all.  He never conducted himself with anything but class and dignity and made it a heck of a ride to watch the once lowly Braves every night.  Last night, following the Braves defeat to the SF Giants he coached his last game.  He will be missed and will most certainly go down as one of the best of all time!  Love you Bobby!  View Image

Almost!

Well the Dawgs came out and took care of business.  The Falcons handled theirs as well.  The Braves?  Not so much.  They had it in the bag and then Bobby Cox decided to start micromanaging everything.  Very disappointing day for Brooks Conrad.  Kimbrell was not as sharp as he has been but I think he had one more out in him.  Cox decided to do 3-4 pitching changes in the last five minutes that cost us the game.  Why would you hand the ball to three rookies in the bottom of the ninth of a playoff game?  The energy in that stadium was incredible.  We will just have to get them tonight and Wednesday.

There is the possibility that this could turn into a really good weekend for Atlanta Sports!!!!

Finally The Dawgs Win!!!  Thanks for all of your hard work as a stand in Russ.  Now let's see if the Braves and Falcons can get a win too.  That would complete the weekend!

Cool billboards of muscle cars

I love old American muscle cars.  There is nothing like them anymore.  And there will never be anything like them again.

Kawasaki S2350 bike build

These are some pics of my bike off of my buddy's blog if any would like to see.  He and Timebomb are the ones helping/teaching me how to go forward with the rebuild.  You can tell we have only started dismantling it and cut the frame down.  The inspiration idea is a combination of their ideas, my ideas and one that I saw riding around Atlanta.  Will post more as we work.

The blog is   thebdac.blogspot.com

You will see that he is a huge gearhead and a big Harley fan/ builder.  They actually have a three part article on his last build in the mag The Horse.  The article is entitled "a Buford Shovel" go check it out! Talk to you guys soon!

Role model of the week (9/23)

The Role Model for this week is none other than my own personal Bible Hero.  He is the apostle Paul.  Truly he was on of the most amazing people in the Bible.  ( and that is saying something)  The things that man endured, for a man he never met, are astounding.  He is an inspiration that if I am asked to endure anything, it probably pales in comparison to what he had to deal with.  The following link is a useful one.  It is, however, not even the tip of the Iceberg to discovering this man...

Sorry

It has been a while since my last post.  It has been a VERY busy time around the house and at work.  Alot has changed in these weeks.  Hope for a special season of football from the Dawgs seems shot.  The Braves are fading fast.  Our country is... well you get the picture.  Still hopeful that the Braves can pull it together and that the Dawgs will show some respectability for the rest of the season.   We shall see!  Thanks for reading!
